This is an opportunity to get a quick lesson in embroidery with Jo Dixey, stitching a small leaf brooch.
Jo will sit in a public space at the museum, and anyone interested is welcome to stop and try their hand at embroidery with her.
Jo Dixey studied an Apprenticeship with the Royal School of Needlework in the early 1990s, and extended this with creative embroidery from City & Guilds. She currently works as a professional embroiderer on many private and public commissions, including public banners and church furnishings, fashion garments and movie costumes. Jo has taught embroidery at guilds, regional and national conferences in NZ, Australia and the UK. She has written for magazines and published her book "Stitch People". She has exhibited in NZ, Australia and UK.
Open to all ages.
Embroidery hoops and needles supplied.
