Abstract Paintings from the Sky with tutor Jo Dixey.
A small scale surface embroidery workshop, suitable for all levels of stitcher. Using a variety of threads held down with sewing thread on a cotton calico background, all stitched in a simple bamboo hoop.
Jo Dixey studied an Apprenticeship with the Royal School of Needlework in the early 1990s, and extended this with creative embroidery from City & Guilds. She currently works as a professional embroiderer on many private and public commissions, including public banners and church furnishings, fashion garments and movie costumes. Jo has taught embroidery at guilds, regional and national conferences in NZ, Australia and the UK. She has written for magazines and published her book "Stitch People". She has exhibited in NZ, Australia and UK.
5-hour workshop from 10:00am – 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break – tea and coffee provided
Embroidery hoops and needles supplied.
