Collection » QEII Research Grant
Hawke’s Bay Museums Trust (HBMT) has a high-level student research fund available to students of recognized tertiary institutions, both national and international.
This grant has been made available through the QEII Award established by the councils of Napier and Hastings in 1978 to mark the silver jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
Funding is contestable and eligibility is extended to post-graduate students undertaking research that requires access to the HBMT collection. In some cases independent researchers with confirmed publishing agreements with reputable publishers may be considered eligible for this grant.
The purpose of this grant is to stimulate new research into the HBMT collection and encourage more researchers to include HBMT content into their research programmes. It is also intended to support high quality student research, in recognition of the original spirit of the QEII student art award.
The award is offered as a contestable award up to a maximum of $2000 annually and is intended to support researchers’ travel and accommodation costs. This amount may be allocated to a single proposal, or divided between multiple proposals.
Please contact MTG Director Laura Vodanovich for more information on the research grant, application process and to discuss the eligibility of your project.
