On Art and Activism

Date: Limited
Duration: 1.5 hours
Years: Years 9 -13
Cost: $4.50 per student. Free for accompanying teachers/adults.
Venue: MTG Hawke's Bay

What is Artivism? An explosion that happens when art and activism collide. Artivism developed in recent years as the anti-war and anti-globalisation protests emerged and grew. The On Art and Activism exhibition presents New Zealand artworks from decades in which our people fought wars, rallied for human rights, questioned sovereignty, or advocated for the environment. Explore the exhibition before working on your own protest art piece.

Please note that this programme does not begin until the 01 June 2020. For more information phone Sarah Fergusson on +64 6 833 9929, or book now
