MTG Hawke’s Bay welcomes visitors from all over the world to share in the complex and fascinating history of New Zealand through the lens of a distinct and characterful region. There are many ways you can become part of our global community.
Join the MTG Friends and be part of the cultural heart of Hawke’s Bay. A small annual subscription helps us bring you the best of New Zealand art, history and culture – from stunning exhibitions to world class research facilities, to a lively music, theatre and events programme.
The skills, knowledge and energy of our MTG Volunteers are a vital ingredient in all of the work we do at MTG Hawke’s Bay. We aim to make volunteering at MTG an interesting, worthwhile and fun experience, working with like-minded people interested in the art, history and culture of New Zealand. We have volunteering opportunities across the institution and are particularly keen to recruit exhibition docents to help us share our stories with visitors to the new MTG Hawke’s Bay.
For 150 years MTG Hawke’s Bay has been at the cultural heart of Hawke’s Bay. The institution has prospered thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of benefactors who have built and cared for our collections, supported research and public programmes and endowed new buildings and facilities. Financial support enables us to build on this legacy for future generations and there are many ways you can help, from sponsoring a new exhibition to donating to the collection.
We offer an all purpose built venue that uniquely combines spectacular outlooks with functional layout.
