Our exhibitions are drawn primarily from the Hawke's Bay Museum's Trust collection. Permanent exhibits on the 1931 earthquake and the region’s stunning Taonga Māori are supported by changing exhibitions in seven additional gallery spaces.
Clay Station Tea Bowls and Tea Cups - 11-14-Year-Olds.
Kids get creative over the school holidays with our Clay Station studio workshops taught by local ceramic artist Mandy Olson.
Over these two sessions, the kids will make a tea bowl or cup while exploring sculpting and moulding techniques and learning the processes associated with clay. They will glaze their work after it has been bisque fired, learn how to mix a glaze and decorate their sculpture ready for its next firing.
Completed sculptures will be ready for collection in a week’s time.
Classes take place in the MTG Education Suite with an experienced tutor and artist. Course fees include all materials and firing. Wear old clothes and bring a drink bottle. Spaces are limited to 12 per class.
$30 for two days. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone - 06 835 7781.
